Hunslet Parkside Under 15's Team - Season 2009/2010
The Jack Lunn Group has once again shown its commitment to developing grass roots sporting talent by agreeing to sponsor a team at Hunslet Parkside.
A life-long rugby fan, Jack Lunn, who founded the Jack Lunn Group in 1949, was Chairman of Hunslet Amateur Rugby League Club (Parkside) for 20 years. The company has sponsored teams at the club on occasion over the years and now Jack’s son, Roy Lunn, Director of the Jack Lunn Group, has continued the family tradition of supporting the club and is now Chairman.
Colin Cooper, Secretary of Hunslet Parkside Rugby Club, commented: “The club has trained and supported a high number of international players. Sponsorship remains critical to the development of both players and the club and we are once again delighted that the Jack Lunn Group has pledged its ongoing support”.
The club currently runs ten junior and youth amateur rugby league teams from under eights to under eighteens. It’s a purely voluntary organisation, the club relies upon its own fund raising initiatives and both individual and corporate sponsorship to keep operating.
Roy Lunn, added: “The Lunn family has been long supporters of Hunslet Parkside and we are delighted to continue our association with the club. The business has a strong tradition of training and developing young people, both within the company as skilled apprentices and through endeavours such as sponsoring community-led initiatives. As a local company we are committed to our continued support of Hunslet Parkside”.
