Jack Lunn Construction has commenced building work at Ashville College in Harrogate, an independent day and boarding school for girls and boys aged 4–18 years.
The £350k project focuses on the refurbishment of the three-storey Norfolk House building, which houses 40 senior girls aged 13-18, the Housemistress and her family, three resident tutors and a resident matron. The modernisation works will play a key role in helping Ashville College provide an extended family to boarders, offering friendship, advice and guidance wherever needed and is part of a wider £4m campus redevelopment and improvement scheme.
Working across the basement, ground and first floors, Jack Lunn Construction will refurbish and renovate bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas. The contractor will work sensitively to repair the fabric of the building and a new M&E system will be installed to enhance efficiencies and reduce the running costs of the facility.
The Board of Trustees at Ashville College appointed Jack Lunn Construction following a competitive tender and interview process. Procured under a traditional contract, this project is the latest education win for Jack Lunn Construction, following previous schemes with the Diocese of Leeds, Leeds College of Building and a number of private schools and colleges in the area.
Stephen Bradbury, Managing Director of Jack Lunn Construction commented: “Education represents a core sector for the business and this latest development highlights our refurbishment abilities within this field. We look forward to working closely with Ashville College on this project and developing the relationship going forward”.
