Work on the new Cromwell Road Primary Care Centre is well underway and on schedule to open in October 2009.
The centre is being built on behalf of North East Lincolnshire Care Trust Plus (CTP) by Lunn Healthcare Facilities Ltd and work began on site in October last year.
“We are pleased that work is progressing well on this ambitious £11m overhaul of primary care services that we are undertaking on behalf of North East Lincolnshire Care Trust Plus. The steel work has been erected and brick work is to start soon” said Tim Edlin, Director of Lunn Healthcare Facilities Ltd.
The Cromwell Road Primary Care Centre is the seventh new development in the area as part of the CTP’s ten year estates strategy and will follow the recent openings of the Cleethorpes Primary Care Centre and Stirling Street Medical Centre.
The development will house four GP Practices, with parking, treatment and clinical facilities. It will include diagnostic facilities such as diagnostic imaging, endoscopies, sigmoidoscopies and diagnostic cystoscopy.
North East Lincolnshire Care Trust Plus Chief Executive, Jane Lewington said:
“We are delighted to be entering the final stages of our ten year Estates Strategy to transform primary care premises in the area. This new centre will be unique in that it will provide a permanent base for the breast screening service, which will not be restricted to patients of the centre and community dental services.”
